Convenience Nights were a activity designed by Deadfish to find new places to hold parties. Usually these were delis open at obnoxious hours. This is important since 12 to 4 in the morning were the natural hours of Byzantine Street.
Habits[]
When the Byzantine Streeters find their target, usually they will start by crowding the place. By then they will be as much as they can from the deli. Usually they will have a particular fixation on the Boars Head brand that purvey the shelves. Anything that looks out of the ordinary or is designed to be a gimmick are also a common target. The general goal of this buying spree is to make the place almost lose its entire stock. Some people also occasionally hang out outside, usually as guards of some sort. Besides that the Byzantine Streeters also love to abuse printing machines if their present. Magazines are also a popular choice for consumption at these delis.
In some cases food fights are known to occur; depending on the general opinion of the employees of the store and the store itself it may be held inside or outside of the store with the former being done if there is a overall poor opinion of the store and its employees and the latter if the opinion is good. If one of the employees tells people to get out it is customary that all the Byzantine Streeter Patrons to call him JERK.
Checkpoint Sleepovers[]
This is a really popular but much rarer version of the Convenience Night. Basically the Byzantine Streeters carpool to a highway checkpoint and do something fairly close to their usual Convenience Nights and they will then try to sleep in the checkpoint. Because of the potential damage to Pasquales hotel business this is a fairly rare activity. Gradually the Byzantine Streeters got the idea of buying the hotel area and doing this event anyway so Pasquale would not complain.
"Eating" Contest[]
One consistent aspect of these comically timed parties is their general climax which is a eating contest. While some Byzantine Streeters genuinely treat it as a eating contest many of them fool around and waste the food this is how many of the food fights happen sometimes. This particular activity has a tendency to make Convenience Nights popular with some of the more gluttonous Byzantine Streeters.
